A guide for anyone getting married at the National Trust’s Gibside Chapel

According to the National Trust, Gibside is a grand design on a spectacular scale and the Palladian chapel is an architectural masterpiece. I would agree – Gibside Chapel is a beautiful and unique wedding venue set amongst extensive grounds.

As a wedding venue the site offers much to the Bride and Groom, stunning backdrops and lots of room for guest in and around any temporary marquees. For a wedding photographer the Chapel itself offers stunning interiors and magnificent backdrops for imagery.

The images here, showing Johnny & Rachel, are some of my favourites. The day turned out to be a clear and crisp and the light coming into the chapel seemed to have a lovely softness to it.  The images of Rachel standing alone in the Chapel are reminiscent to me of a 1950s movie star and the light; mostly captured with the trusty Canon EF 50mm f1.4, is just lovely.  Rachel’s bridesmaid, brought some mischief and fun to the pictures and the cheekiness of Bride and Bridesmaid wearing trainers under their dresses was a lovely touch.

If you are thinking of getting married here it is a special place and the staff will do their very best to make your day very special. The link to the the National Trust weddings page is here and they have very kindly chosen to use some of my images in the past. See more images the Gallery Page here.
